The cheapest tickets in one place!

I flew the early morning flight from Denpasar to Yogyakarta on the new Boeing 737 and was more than impressed. At check-in, I asked for an exit-row seat, and the representative happily gave it to me (for no additional cost). The flight boarded and left on time, and I was on the ground in Yogyakarta in a little over an hour. Lion Air offered the cheapest rate I could find when searching online, and there’s no doubt I’ll be choosing them for my flight back to Bali too.

Lion Air is a low cost airline, so as long as you don’t expect first-class luxuries, you’re guaranteed to get a lot of bang for your buck. I recently purchased a round trip ticket from Pangkal Pinang on the Indonesian island of Bangka to Palembang, Sumatra. The low price of the ticket was one of the factors that lead me to take a long awaited trip to Sumatra. I was impressed by the professionalism of Lion Air’s staff and how quickly the check-in process went. The amenities on the flight were basic, but the plane was new, and the seats were far more comfortable than other budget airlines I’ve flown throughout Indonesia and other parts of the world.

When you search online for a domestic flight in Indonesia, Lion Air will probably be one of the most affordable results. From my experiences, flying to and from Denpasar, Jakarta, Kupang, Yogyakarta, Surabaya and even a number of smaller towns/cities, Lion Air is one of the cheapest and friendliest you can fly. The cabin crew is accommodating, and although you don’t receive in-flight snacks, you save more than enough on the ticket to purchase snacks before you board at the airport. I would definitely recommend Lion Air to other budget travelers looking for cheap flights through Indo and other parts of Southeast Asia.
