1. Damri Bus

The Kokapura taxis are the only official taxis available at Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman International Airport. Tickets for these taxis can be purchased at the airport’s transportation window. To take a minibus into the city center, you’ll have to exit the airport and walk to the main road. Take public transportation No. 7 (dark green color) on the route: Terminal Damai – Stal Kuda – Sepinggan – Batakan – Manggar – Gunung Tembak (PP). The fare for public transportation is 4,500 Rp one-way; however, the fare can change due to rising fuel prices.

1. Taxi

Taxis are the most popular form of public transportation used to reach the airport from downtown Banjarmasin and its nearby areas. Taxis can be found along the city streets or by contacting the taxi company’s customer service line. Generally, the taxis in Balikpapan are not equipped with meters, so it’s important to reach a fair price with the driver before entering the vehicle. A reasonable fare from the Banjarmasin city center to the airport is between 125,000 Rp and 150,000 Rp for one-way service.

2. City Transport

A more affordable form of public transportation from the city center to the airport is the yellow cab. Not to be confused with traditional commercial taxis, Banjarmasin’s yellow cabs are yellow minibuses that travel along numerous routes throughout the city and beyond. You’ll need to take two yellow cabs to reach the airport from the city center. First, take a yellow cab from downtown Banjarmasin to Terminal Pal 6. When you arrive at Terminal Pal 6, board another yellow cab to the roundabout at Syamsudin Noor Airport. You’ll have to walk roughly 400 meters from the roundabout to the airport entrance.
