Passenger's experience

Drawing from a diverse array of passenger feedback, this is what it's truly like to fly with TAROM. Learn about the airline class of service, seating choices and comfort, baggage policies, Wi-Fi, and ticket flexibility.

What can I expect when flying with TAROM?

When flying with TAROM, you can expect traditional Romanian hospitality. The airline prides itself on friendly staff, from check-in to flight attendants. Even in Economy Class, you’re served complimentary meals and beverages. Be aware, however, in-flight entertainment isn’t consistently available, particularly on older aircraft, which form part of TAROM’s fleet.

Business Class passengers enjoy added comfort with extra legroom and enhanced meal service. The airline is also a member of SkyTeam, meaning frequent flyers can earn and redeem miles on a broad network of airlines. As with all travel, experiences can vary, but TAROM strives for a comfortable and welcoming journey.

What are the seating options?

Your seating options span from the streamlined comfort of Economy to the enhanced privacy of Business Class. In Economy, enjoy surprisingly spacious legroom for a budget-friendly class, an exception rather than the norm among global airlines. If you crave extra relaxation, consider Business Class. It delivers plush, wider seats and more personal space.

All passengers benefit from adjustable headrests and footrests, regardless of their ticket class. A standout feature, however, remains the lack of Premium Economy — a go-between option commonplace on many international airlines. TAROM focuses instead on delivering a solid experience within its two existing cabin classes.

Is TAROM economy comfortable?

Regarding TAROM’s economy class, comfort is a key feature. Seats have ample legroom with a typical pitch of around 31-32 inches. Seat width is also noteworthy, coming in at about 17-18 inches. While this provides a decent amount of personal space for long-haul travel, comfort is subjective.

TAROM’s economy class service includes meals and beverages, a feature often appreciated by passengers. On newer aircraft, there may be personal inflight entertainment, but it’s not a given across all flights. If comfort is a critical factor, considering a higher fare class could be worthwhile.

What is the baggage allowance?

TAROM’s baggage policy grants Economy Class passengers the right to check in one bag of up to 23 kg. For Business Class, it’s a generous two bags of up to 23 kg each. Carry-on luggage, regardless of the ticket class, is limited to one piece weighing no more than 10 kg. Additionally, passengers may carry a personal item such as a laptop or handbag.

Always remember that these allowances can fluctuate depending on your specific route and the ticket’s terms and conditions. For exact allowances, do consult TAROM’s official website or get in touch with their customer service before your journey.

Does TAROM have Wi-Fi?

TAROM, the Romanian Air Transport company, currently does not offer Wi-Fi or internet connectivity for passengers aboard its aircraft, whether during flights or while on the ground. However, TAROM provides an alternative entertainment platform called AirFi, which allows passengers to access a variety of media options wirelessly using their own mobile devices such as smartphones, tablets, and laptops.

Although internet connectivity is not available, AirFi aims to enhance the in-flight entertainment experience for TAROM passengers.
