About

AirAsia is a Malaysian low-cost airline that operates scheduled domestic and international flights in Asia. Its main base is the Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) at Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

Indonesia Air Asia is an airline based in Jakarta, Indonesia, with a secondary hub at Denpasar Airport in Bali. It focuses on domestic and local international services from/to Indonesia. Indonesia AirAsia is listed in category 1 by Indonesian Civil Aviation Authority for airline safety quality.

Airline's clain is "No Admin Fee" for its flights, but has introduced a number of fees for services that are free on many airlines. Its fees and charges are: Convenience fee (when the payment is made with credit card), Seating fee (for pre-selecting seats) and a checked luggage fee (charged by weight). The airline also charges passengers for food, for use of a wheelchair and for amenity kit (pillow, blanket, eyeshade).

Tickets booking

Passenger can book ticket on Internet by visiting Tiket2.com website. You are required to have a printed copy of an e-ticket with you during the journey - it will allows you to enter into the airport, to check-in or to arrange a refund/exchange if such a situation arises. You will receive an e-ticket directly to your email box right after you book AirAsia flight with Tiket2. To enter the airport and for the check-in, you will also be asked to present a proof identity such as a passport, identity card or Indonesian KTP.

Payments

At Tiket2, payment must be made at the end of the booking process. Only bookings with a status of payment completion will be eligible to be issued an e-ticket. Each reservation has a time limit (showed in the dedicated window at the end of the booking process), which indicates the deadline of the payment. In case the payment is not made before the time limit, our system will cancel the reservation and will inform you about this fact by email. You will be asked to start the reservation from the beginning.

Ticketing, changes to reservation and refunds

AirAsia Indonesia is a ticketless airline, which means you do not need a ticket to check-in, although you will receive an e-ticket. You can make changes to your reservation (change name of a passenger, change date, etc.) depending on the rule/condition of fare of the ticket. Departure date change, route and type of class can be changed by contacting AirAsia Call Center, but should there be any difference of payment amount, the payment amount difference shall settled during ticket exchange. There is a fee of Rp 165,000 for the domestic flight change or name change (per guest per sector).

Flight change

You may change flights up to 48 hours prior to the scheduled flight departure time, subject to the following conditions:

Changes can be made via Manage My Booking, at AirAsia Sales Office/Airport Sales Counter and through call centre. A change fee is applicable.

Open tickets

Although most airlines practice this, open tickets are not available on AirAsia flights. All bookings made with AirAsia must be confirmed with a flight number and date.

Refunds

Once your booking is confirmed, it cannot be cancelled and the payment you made is not refundable. Also, if you fail to check-in on time or board the aircraft by the boarding time, the fare you paid is not refundable. You will have to make another booking on the next available flight.

AirAsia cancelled flights policy

In the event of a flight cancellation, passengers will be given the following options:

Check-in

AirAsia check-in counters open three hours before and close sixty minutes before the scheduled flight departure time. Check-in deadlines may vary at different airports and for particular flights. It is your responsibility to ensure that you comply with these deadlines, particulars of which are available at the time you make your booking. Upon arrival at the airport, present your passport or identity card at check-in counter and proceed to the boarding gate. Failure to present yourself at the counter before counter closure will result in denial for check-in.

Self Check-In

Check-in from almost anywhere with AirAsia Self Check-In services which are available online, at the airport and from your mobile. You can opt to Web Check-In, Mobile Check-In or Kiosk Check-In.

Online check-in

Web Check-In Online is available from 7 days to 4 hours before the scheduled departure time. First, select your departure and destination cities, then key in your Booking Number. In the next step select guest to be checked-in. In the third and last step print your Boarding Pass. Please note that your boarding pass is not a valid pass until your travel documents are checked and your boarding pass verified and stamped at designated document check counters at the airport.

Mobile check-in

Mobile phone can be used for check-in when you already purchased a ticket. With your mobile phone, you can now check-in from almost anywhere. Opt for mobile check-in via WAP 7 days prior and up to 4 hours before the scheduled flight departure time. Mobile check in service is available for domestic flights at AirAsia mobile website m.airasia.com. A 2D bar code is a bar code that a passenger will receive when he checks-in via mobile. This bar code is not a boarding pass and has to be scanned at the airport (2D bar code scanner or kiosk) in exchange for a boarding pass. The 2D bar code expires 1 hour before scheduled departure time. Your boarding pass is not a valid pass until your travel documents are checked and your boarding pass verified and stamped at designated document check counters at the airport.

Group check-in

Group check-in is available at the special group check-in counter at the airport for people traveling on the same itinerary.

Baggage regulations

Hand baggage

All guests (except infants) are allowed only one piece of hand carry baggage onboard provided that it does not exceed the dimensions of 56cm x 36cm x 23cm and does not weigh more than 7kg. Such baggage must fit under the seat in front of you or in an enclosed storage compartment in the cabin. Items determined by us to be of excessive weight or size or of an offensive nature will not be permitted onboard.

Checked baggage

The allowed luggage dimensions are maximum 81cm x 119cm x 119cm. For safety reasons any individual item must not exceed 30 kg, although you should know that AirAsia does not provide free checked baggage allowance. The checked baggage weight must be specified and paid during the ticket purchase process. It's also possible to pay for your baggage at the airport but expect a hefty price in such a case.

Baggage Supersize

Baggage Supersize is AirAsia's checked baggage service. Passengers can choose from three tiers of Baggage Supersize allowance which is Regular, Medium and Large. Pre-booked Baggage Supersize Fee gives you a choice to purchase from a minimum of 15kg to a maximum of 30kg on a discounted rate (discounts up to 50%), while the Airport Rate only allows you to pay for up to 15kg and any weight thereafter will be charged as excess baggage at the applicable rate. Prices starts at Rp 60,000 for a 15 kilo bag.

Sports equipment

Golf, scuba diving, surf boards and bicycles are accepted as Sports Equipment subject to the Sports Equipment Fee. Sporting equipment such as large fishing rods, fencing equipment, surfboarding and windsurfing equipment, snow / water skiing equipment, hang gliders, parachutes are inherently unsuitable for carriage by airlines.

Musical instruments

You are allowed to carry my musical instruments (e.g. violin, guitar) onboard, provided that it is within AirAsia hand carry baggage weight and dimension limits.

Other baggage regulations

Economy class and Business class

AirAsia does not provide Business class seats, but they claim that their Premium Seats provide business class comfort at a fraction of the business class price. The Premium Seats are available on long-haul flights while Economy Seats are available on all flights.

Miscellaneous airline's regulations

Children and Infant Fare

Children fare refers to a fare for a person who has reached his/her 2nd but not his/her 12th birthday at the start of travel. Infant fare refers to the fare for a person who has not reached his/her 2nd birthday.

Pregrant guests

Passengers who are pregnant up to 27 weeks may travel withot any restrictions. They will be just ask to fill in a special Liability Statement at the check-in counter. Passengers who are pregnant between 28-34 weeks are required to provide medical certificate from the doctor confirming number of pregnancy weeks. Passengers above 35 week of pregnancy are not allowed to fly.

Special assistance

In case you need a special assistance services (like weelchair) you will need to contact airline's Customer Service support no later than 48 hours before the departure. Weelchair services are provided free of charged.

Food and drinks

Similary to all low-cost airlines, AirAsia do not offer free-of-charge meal services, however passengers can purchase hot meals, drinks as well as in-flight entertainment onboard of each aircraft.

Red Carpet

Red Carpet is a airline's services for a premium passenders. The main privileges include a dedicated check-in area, free access to the lounge, fast-track queue as well as special baggage treatment (priority delivery upon the arrival). Red Carpet service is available for all AK, FD and QZ flights departing from selected destinations.
